Formerly the residence of artists Ian and Yvonne Currie, Blue On Blue B&B is housed in a 1920’s character home filled with architectural details of a bygone era — teak and Oregon pine flooring, antique Venetian fixtures, porthole windows, leaded glass cabinets, and cedar-lined closets.
The B&B has been upgraded to serve the needs of our guests, and now harmoniously blends old and new with an art-filled ambiance that the dear Currie’s would appreciate.
Blue On Blue is ideally situated in St James, a picturesque suburb of Cape Town located on the False Bay coastline between Muizenberg and Kalk Bay – an area once known as “Millionaire’s Mile” for the grand vacation homes that still grace our mountainside community.
St James is perhaps best known for the much-photographed multicoloured Victorian bathing huts and tidal swimming pool on its beach, which are just 200 metres from our B&B’s front door.
During spring, land-based whale watching is a popular activity from the beach (or from your guest room) as the Southern Right Whales often congregate near the water’s edge!
