  • The Equatorial Guinea tourist visa allows foreigners to visit for the purpose of sightseeing, wildlife, relaxation and recreation.
  • Those with the intention of visiting friends and relatives in Equatorial Guinea will also need this visa.
  • Your passport must have a validity of at least six months after your trip date. If otherwise, you should consider getting your passport renewed before travelling.
  • An invitation letter showing the valid home address & telephone number of the  friend or relative you intend to visit in the country is needed. Otherwise, proof of hotel reservations will be required.
  • During your time in the country, you are free to attend festivals and other social events.
  • Proof that you are financially capable to support yourself during your stay in Equatorial Guinea must be provided. This is usually done by presenting bank or credit card statements.
  • A copy of your round-trip or tour ticket is required.
  • Applicants under 18, are required to provide their original birth certificates and a letter of consent signed by both parents  if traveling without the parents. If the applicant is travelling with one parent, the other parent is required to sign a letter of consent.
  • A document which shows that you have the incentive of returning to your country at the expiry of your visa should be submitted during the visa application process, e.g., proof of family ties or a stable job in South Africa.
  • Proof of visa application payment.
  • Foreigners on this visa are not allowed to take up paid or unpaid employment during their time in the country.
  • Travelers are advised to be vaccinated against Yellow Fever, Malaria, Hepatitis A, Tetanus, Polio & Rabies before travelling to Equatorial Guinea.
  • You can extend your stay for up to 90 days but you are advised to leave at the end of the 90 day period.

  • Visas are required by South African passport holders and they can be issued on arrival if prior authorization has been reached with the Equatorial Guinean Foreign Ministry in Malabo.
  • Passport with at least 6 months validity from intended trip date and at least one blank page.
  • Ensure your passport is properly stamped on arrival and departure to avoid false detention.
  • Two recent colored passport photographs.
  • Proof of travel itinerary is required.
  • Original certificate of vaccination against Yellow Fever. Duly completed & signed application form.
  • Proof of financial capability.
  • Police report or certificate of good conduct is required from a South African police station. 
  • Complete travel itinerary.
  • Proof of accommodation for intended period of stay.
  • Copy of return flight ticket.
  • Medical insurance. 
  • Letter showing purpose of travel.
  • Recommended vaccination against Typhoid, Hepatitis A, Tetanus, Meningitis, Polio, Rabies, Malaria &   Prophylaxis
  • Minors travelling alone require a letter of consent signed by both parents. If travelling with one   parent, a letter of consent signed by the parent not travelling is required. 
  • Original birth certificate is required for children under 18 regardless of who they are travelling with.
  • This visa is valid for 2 months and can be used for a stay period of 60 days which can be extended to   90 days.
