Without a license, it is illegal to buy, sell, kill or capture any protected animal. You will incur a huge fine or receive a long-term prison sentence if you are caught doing this. Homosexuals will be apprehended and handed a prison sentence if caught.
It is advisable for tourists to go around with a means of identification. You may be arrested if you are unable to present a means identification when it is requested by the police. Avoid being in the possession or using of hard drugs, it is illegal in the country.
Basic Travel Requirements for South Africans visiting Cameroon
- Copy of completed application form. The application form should be stamped and signed where necessary.
- Original South African passport which has a validity of at least 6 months and 3 blank pages.
- Two recent passport-sized photographs taken with a white background.
- Bank statement from the past three months prior to the date of visa application showing that you can take care of yourself during your time in the country.
- Return ticket to South Africa.
- Travel itinerary.
- Travel insurance.
- Proof that you have been vaccinated against yellow fever.
