Holders of this visa visit the country for relaxation, recreation and sightseeing purposes. Applicants intending to visit family and relatives in the country may apply for this visa. If you are visiting someone in the country, a letter of invitation from your host is required. Home address and telephone number of your host should be stated in detail in the letter. If you are not a South African, a copy of your South African stay permit is required. Minors should ensure they have the original copy of their birth certificate. If minors are travelling with neither of their parents, they should have a consent letter which should be signed by both their parents. Before this visa can be issued to you, you are required to have a yellow fever vaccination certificate. Foreigners cannot study while they are in the country. You are not allowed to take part in business activities while you are in the country. All visitors are expected to obey all the rules guiding their visa. You are not allowed to participate in any religious vocations. The visa is valid for 30 days.

Holders of this visa may attend conferences, business summits and trade fairs while they are in the country. You may negotiate and sign business contracts while in the country. A letter of invitation from your business partner in Suriname is required. The letter should have the company’s address and the purpose and duration of your visit in the country. The certificate of business registration of the company you are visiting in Suriname is required. If you have had prior business dealings with the company you are meeting with, proof of this is required. A letter from your current employer in South Africa stating that he/she is aware of your business. South Africans can enter Suriname visa free for a duration of 90 days.  Intending visitors can stay on a tourist or business visa.  Visitors require an eVisa to visit Suriname.  Your visa is valid for a period of 20 months.  The tourist visa cost $40 while the business visa cost $50. A visa application for a minor (up to 17 years) can only be submitted with the authorization of the parents/legal guardians of the minor. Before entry into Suriname, visitors must have a proof of return and onward tickets, 2 passport photographs and a valid passport of six months on arrival in Suriname wish one blank page.
